Salon is a restaurant in Brixton that serves creative, seasonally-led food in a relaxed and informal setting. We opened in late 2012, and have steadily gained a reputation for serving some of the most exciting food in South London and have become a beacon for good food in the area, and beyond.

We have a loyal band of regulars, strong recognition from our peers in the industry, and continue to receive praise from the press, critics, bloggers and social media alike. Our aspirations are not yet met, however, and with foundations laid, it's time to improve our food offer further still and start to make an even greater impact on the industry.
We are looking for a passionate, talented and committed assistant manager with a keen interest in food and drink to join our small team.
About the role
We are looking for an ambitious individual, someone who has been a floor manager/ supervisor and is looking to take the next step and learn more of the elements that are required to run a restaurant behind the scenes. This is a multi-faceted role which will challenge the right candidate to use every skill in their possession. Salon is a small, independent restaurant where everyone works together in a tight knit team. You will work directly with the Matt and Mark, the FoH Directors to manage stock, FOH rotas, weekly management reporting, training, customer relations and events support. We will train you in how to manage a small business with the aim of helping develop you to become a well skilled general manager. The role will also require a strong presence on the restaurant floor and the ability to manage a busy service.
This role involves seven shifts a week and variable shift patterns, so a degree of flexibility is required.
• Over a year’s previous experience in similar restaurant environment at supervisor or floor manager level
• An interest in current food trends, seasonal ingredients, sustainability & low intervention wine is vital
• Experience of stock management is a distinct bonus
• Excellent communication and IT skills
• Legally entitled to work in the UK
