FINTEC recruit is looking for a Principal Engineer Welding & Materials for our engineering client. This is a permanent position based in Plymouth with salary approx £40,000 to £50,000 plus benefits, negotiable by experience. This position includes a requirement to travel to other site offices across the UK . You will be required to have chartership status. Also to have experience of working in a Nuclear or other Safety Regulated Industry

Role and Responsibilities :

Provide guidance for Degradation, Materials, Joining and Welding for a wide range of marine and specialist structures supporting production of design deliverables including reports, drawings, models, calculations and specifications to describe and substantiate Structural aspects of the facilities.

Onsite inspection and sentencing of complex structures

Managing a team of engineers and technicians to deliver, to budget and programme as required

Provide concept solutions to engineering problems arising

The ideal candidate for the Principal Engineer role will have:-

Qualifications

Equivalent to Degree level in Materials, Civil or Structural Engineering. (NVQ 4)

Ideally Achieved Chartered Status in Appropriate Institution Engineers.

Examples of the Degradation, Material, Joining and Welding assessments and specifications associated with Civil Engineering with a bias to infrastructure and marine structures in the heavy industrial or Marine environment.

Understanding of the behaviour and purpose of a wide variety of material and structures

Knowledge of the Regulations and Standards for infrastructure and marine structures with emphasis on ACI for Nuclear Justification, British Standards and Eurocodes.

Record of compliance with the constraints in Nuclear or other Safety Regulated Industry.

Computer literate in Office, Design, Analytical and Graphical Design packages with preference for MS Office, ANSYS, STAAD-Pro and AUTOCAD.
