The East Close Hotel is currently in the process of embarking on an exciting future. Re-positioning within the local market & refurbishing and developing it and its surrounding area to reach its potential. The hotel currently has 15 bedrooms, restaurant and bar with wedding and function facilities. Set in extensive grounds amongst the scenic New Forest, just 15 minutes from Christchurch.


The Role: 

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our small front of house team, which is responsible for both reception and reservations to ensure that all of our customers receive the highest standards of service and hospitality from the moment they book until they depart, whilst completing a wide range of administrative tasks and procedures, and some light cleaning duties, support to other departments and being the main point of contact between our guests and the team.

All of our receptionists are expected to gain a strong knowledge and understanding of our hotel amenities, rates, packages and special offers in order to convert as many accommodation enquiries as possible and maximise room revenue. You will also be responsible for sending menus to customers and taking restaurant bookings as well as providing the first point of contact for initial function & meeting enquiries, before passing on full details to our Events Team to follow up. 

The role is split in to early (7am – 3pm) and late (3pm – 11pm) shifts, each with their own list of responsibilities which must be completed thoroughly and efficiently, including various reports and forecasts, correspondence checks and cash ups. 

The Candidate: 

We are seeking somebody with a friendly, outgoing personality who is able to multitask, handle pressure and bring a professional, well-organised approach to the working environment. Previous experience of working in a hotel reception and reservations department(s) is advantageous, as is excellent written and spoken English and Maths. Previous experience of Roomlynx, Rezlynx or Fidelio, Outlook, word and Excel would be advantageous.

Must have private transport as we are not on a public transport route.

Shifts are from 07.00 - 15.30 or 14.30 - 23.00 with 1/2 hr break.

Candidate must be eligible to work in the UK.
