We are looking for a professional to work as part of a team by supporting the Catering Manager or Head Chef in providing a high standard of catering services. Under the direction of the Catering Manager or the Head Chef the post holder will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, presentation and service of food, maintaining hygiene, health and safety standards and deputising for the Head Chef in their absence.

Intermediate food safety certificate and demonstrable experience of ‘call order’ cooking is essential. The successful candidates will have a general understanding of professional catering and experience of working with fresh food and cooking for large scale numbers.

Hours of work will average 37 per week on a “5 days out of 7” basis but there is a need for flexibility to support business demand. There may be a proportion of evening and weekend work on an ad hoc basis however it is unlikely that there will be split shifts. The early shift starts at around 6am and the late shift finishes at around 8pm. All uniform is provided and laundered.

The annual holiday entitlement is 38 days, including 8 statutory public holidays and closure days over the Christmas and the New Year period.

The starting salary is £20,000 per annum.
