We are a long-established specialist audio visual company in Battersea, London.  We design and install sophisticated AV systems for an array of prestigious clients, devising presentation systems, large screen LED displays and innovative installations.

We also operate a hire and event staging service, and we are looking for an energetic and ambitious person to run it and build it up.  Could that person be you?

This is an opportunity for the right individual to join our small team and take ownership of the Hire and Staging Department as its new manager.  We pride ourselves in providing an efficient service to our established client base, but it’s now time to move up a gear and exploit the huge range of opportunities in London’s vibrant events market.  We have a great location just south of the river, comprehensive stocks of good quality gear – now we just need the right person to take the department forward.

This is very much a hands-on job with, initially at least, as much time spent working on projects as on building client relationships and growing the business. 

The successful candidate will need:

  • A good understanding of the industry and the requirements of clients, be they corporates, venues, event organisers or others
  • At least three years’ experience in the AV industry
  • Really good knowledge of the technology: sound, lighting, projection, staging, video, VC etc.  
  • Decent IT skills. MS Windows & Office as a minimum 
  • To be physically fit (this is far from a desk job)
  • To have a clean driving licence

Above all you will need energy and enthusiasm, and a passion for delivering great service and technical excellence.  We want someone who is articulate and will get on well with clients, even when they are at their most demanding.   You’ll need to be organised, and able to organise others.  And you’ll need good commercial instincts, to price jobs, judge when to discount, and know whether a job is making or losing money.

We are looking for someone who wants to make the hire and staging department their own and to build it up, and to reflect this the remuneration package will be a mix of basic salary and a generous profit share.  It will suit someone who has been working in the industry for a few years, who has entrepreneurial instincts, and feels they are now ready to run their own operation and fly with it… and are prepared to put in the effort to make it happen.  So are you an AV technician, an event producer, a sound engineer, a stage manager…. who feels ready to take the next big step in your career?
