SW4 Live-Out Nanny/House help, 25-35 hours, £10-13/hour
We are a family in Clapham Old Town looking for a live-out nanny to look after our two daughters (ages 10 and 9). We are looking for someone completely reliable, day in and day out. You should have a track record of being organised and independent in your previous childcare roles.
Both parents are working full-time and our girls go to a local school about 15 minutes walk away.
At a minimum, we need after school care from 3.30-7.00 every weekday (M-F) during term time. Ideally, the nanny would also do the morning school run 2-3 days a week -- that would mean arriving at 8 am and getting the girls to school for 8.45. This morning run can be tied in with additional jobs around the house such as laundry and ironing, if you are interested in more hours.
The girls have a variety of after-school clubs and activities, all within walking distance of school and home. No car or driving license needed BUT you need to be happy really hoofing it around Clapham for the school runs and activities -- you will be walking for at least an hour most days so you need to be in good physical health and have lots of energy.
You'll prepare dinner for the kids each day. Ideally your cooking is good enough for the whole family. You should be able to do light grocery shopping, if needed, to manage the evening meal prep.
With the school runs (5 afternoons and 3 mornings), time for dinner preparation, and laundry/ironing the job works out to 30 hours. More hours or less hours can certainly be discussed for the right person, as long as the childcare is covered.
During half-term holidays and the summer break, you'd ideally have sole charge of the girls from 8.00am-7pm and would ferry them to their activities and playdates. These days the girls tend to do day camps (sports, music, arts) during many of their school holidays, so there is some flexibility here.
