The Sous Chef will have complete responsibility for the kitchen operation in the absence of the Head Chef, & must be able to lead & motivate a team to deliver great food. If you love to create beautiful food that’s seasonal & well sourced then we can offer you a fun & professional environment to work in. The working week is around 48 hours over 5 days.

You will need to demonstrate good previous experience in a similar role in a busy, high quality restaurant environment , with the skills & attributes listed below.

A genuine love of cooking, exceptional cooking skills and food knowledge, & the ability to help develop dishes based on these principles, and deliver them with consistency, on time and to budget.

The ability to remain calm, organised and in control in a  busy and high pressure environment

Understanding food stock control and ordering; all health, safety and food hygiene requirements and ensuring they are adhered to.

Able to share responsibility for the kitchen's financial performance in terms of food GP targets, & working to an agreed wage budget.

The ability to help recruit, train, and motivate a team of talented chefs to work with you and share your passion for good food.
