Person Centre Female* Carer
We are looking for a personable female*, and who is lively, and has good person centered skills, has a proven track record and good experience of working with people with dementia and Alzheimer's and general caring skills and training.
We can offer approximately between 15-18 hours per week, morning and evening slots Monday through Sundays. Hours and days negotiable.
My Mum is 88 and has Alzheimer's and mixed dementia, macular generation and hearing difficulties. Otherwise she is in reasonable health She is very lively (at times), loves chatting and showing her art work and talking about her life, when stimulated.
Duties include prompting for medication, preparing nutritious meals, ensuring regular hydration, short walks out to park, engaging in conversation and some word games. General cleaning, tidying and putting away delivered shopping.
Documents required : Current DBS, Proof of Residence and Right to Work in the UK/Work permit, proof of registered as Self-Employed or PAYE/ National Insurance Number, C.V. and training certificates; clean driving licence (if applicable) and proof of address. Good written and spoken English. Other languages French and Arabic an asset but not essential. Car an asset but not essential.
*Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010" for a female worker to work with my mother.
