Full time sous chef or trainee chef required - The Red Lion in Shamley Green (near Guildford)
The Red Lion in Shamley Green is seeking a committed chef or trainee chef to work in a well-established kitchen known for quality, home cooked food made with local ingredients. Our experienced team can offer training and invaluable experience for a range of levels of experience. The Red Lion is a popular pub restaurant known for its personal service, quality food and variety of special dishes.
As a Sous Chef you'll work across all areas of the kitchen, and will be involved in a variety of activities including: fresh food preparation, inputting into and preparing special dishes and menus, ordering and stock control, and ensuring adherence to food safety and cleaning standards, all while working in a friendly and understanding team.
All our full time staff are eligible for a variety of benefits, including free meals on shift, contributory pension scheme, and equal share in all tips.
The pub is on the bus route between Guildford and Cranleigh and parking is available. You must be able to commute to work, we do not have any live in staff availability.
We are offering a combined package of up to £26,000 a year, of which £2,000 to £3,000 is variable share in all tips depending on the performance of the combined Red Lion team.
Hours of work are flexible and we are committed to ensuring a healthy work / life balance for all staff. Typical hours would be 10am to 3pm and 6pm to 10pm, to match our food service, however we may have the option for 10am to 5pm for an appropriately experienced candidate who can work autonomously outside of service hours.
