About the role:

The ever popular Windsor Farm Shop sells a wide range of high quality produce from the Royal Estates and local producers. It also has a rapidly expanding Coffee Shop serving a range of drinks, cakes and hot meals throughout the day, popular with tourists as well as locals.

We are now looking for someone to help expand the offering of food served in our coffee shop and in this new position you will have the opportunity to design and develop the menu, providing an enticing and varied seasonal range for our customers.

From sourcing to service you'll be involved in the entire lifespan of your dishes, and you'll look to make the most of fresh produce from local suppliers and the Royal Farms. Preparing daily dishes of exceptional quality, you'll develop both your food knowledge and menu planning skills.

Also responsible for purchasing, stock control and Food Hygiene and Safety requirements, you'll ensure the kitchen is always full stocked and well maintained.

Supporting the Coffee Shop Manager, you'll help to guide and upskill our team of committed Coffee Shop Assistants, ensuring they have great product and menu knowledge, as well as an understanding of food service procedures, in order to always deliver an outstanding customer experience.

You'll constantly seek to improve our sales, taking note of what is popular with customers and developing our range further, as well as working with colleagues to manage margins and improve cost control.

Taking pride in the quality of your food and with the opportunity to really make your mark, your work will help take the business forward, and provide the next step in your culinary career.

About you:

You'll already have considerable experience working in a professional kitchen, and with a passion for food and local produce you'll be able to make the impact we need.

Familiar with the principles of stock control, storing and preparing food, you'll also have a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent) and possess a food and hygiene certificate at either a basic or intermediate level.

You'll have some knowledge of menu design, and you'll be eager to utilise your skills and creativity to develop a nutritious and exciting seasonal menu that customers will enjoy.

Excellent communication skills will be important, as you will be liaising with a wide range of employees, customers and suppliers.

Well organised, able to use initiative and work without close supervision, you can remain calm and collected even when things get busy.

Above all, you will enjoy working as part of a collaborative team to deliver an exceptional overall customer experience.

In return you will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including a 15% employer contribution pension scheme (with the option for flexibility - to increase contributions or draw down as salary), with training and development.
