We are working with a "Good" Ofsted-rated mainstream secondary school in Haringey who are currently looking to recruit a Cover and Timetable Manager to start in January 2018, on an initial 3 months contract, to be extended for a longer term or potentially permanent contract for the right candidate.

The selected candidate will be responsible for Cover Management, Cover Support, Curriculum timetabling, Performance Management Programme Administrator (BlueSky), and maintain HR Records.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Cover Management:

* Using SIMS to manage all aspects of the daily staff rota taking account of short and long term absence, leave and trips
* Complete and manage the daily exercise in the planning, allocation and administration of internal and external cover resources (people and rooms)
* Report to SLT, daily, by 08.00 of the impact of cover issues.
* Liaise with agreed agencies/suppliers for daily and longer term supply of candidates
* Manage Agency supply staff. Allocate temporary passwords on SIMs for longer term supply staff
* Provide induction for short-term supply/agency staff
* Provide supply staff with Cover sheets and registers for classes

Cover Support:

* To support the Cover supervisor; ensure their daily loading is appropriate
* Authorise the timesheets for supply staff regarding their work times /pay invoices in line with agreed tarif

Curriculum timetable:

* Work with Deputy Headteacher to support the whole school curriculum timetable
* Manage and create the Alternative Curriculum classes (EAL/SEN/ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION) and implement into the timetable for teachers involved

Performance Management Programme Administrator (BlueSky):

* Be responsible for the administration, monitoring and reporting of all staff actively on BlueSky
* Manage the cover administration in regard to BlueSky requests for training
* Log whole school INSET and other whole school training activities on Bluesky, maintain registers of events, and maintain registers of staff attendance
* Update staff lists, team lists and ensure that members of staff have the 'correct' access according to their role

HR Records:

* Input daily HR records in SIMs from Special Leave forms and sickness calls in the morning and records all absence reason as advised by staff on morning absence phone calls and updates SLT if required.

Key skills and experience needed:

* Previous support work within a school or other transferable child-related experience
* Substantial experience of working on SIMS in a school organisation,
* Cover administration or similar staff / personnel related tasks
* Experience of managing databases and relevant software in the completion of scheduling, timetabling and other related tasks (preferably BlueSky)
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (face to face, telephone, written)
* Excellent database and numeracy skills
* Professional manner. Proactive, engaging and empathetic.
* Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and determined approach
