Eastside Youth is a new youth work charity, that started in January 2017 and is based in East London aiming to change the lives of young people and has been set up in response to the massive and severe funding cuts and closures of youth services across East London, leaving young people with lack of services and feeling isolated in a time where young people already feel segregated from society with no real voice.

#YouthWorkChangesLives and at Eastside Youth we aim to facilitate that change by giving young people aged 11 to 19 years old based in East London the tools and skills to lead active and independent lives by providing interactive and engaging structured youth activities, training opportunities and support that will help improve their physical, mental, emotional, social and educational well-being.

We are looking for someone to join our team as one of our HR Assistants for a few hours per week (evening/weekend based) to support our current HR Assistant is carrying out HR Assistant duties, including HR Administration, leading on the recruitment, selection and induction of volunteers and to help ensure that we create the best systems and processes for volunteering to help keep a talented and motivated volunteer team for our new youth work charity, helping us be the best volunteering charity in the world.

We need someone who is approachable, friendly and solution focused, who is able to get things done with little supervision who can work well alone or within a team, who is able to manage their own workloads and is able to provide HR support and advice, as well as be the point of contact for volunteers and any volunteer management issues and needs.

We are a new charity so you will be expected to help us set up HR processes and systems, deal with all HR Administrative duties such as email correspondence and HR related note taking etc. This role is much more than just an admin role, we want to give you some amazing experiences that you wouldn't get anywhere else.

This role offers an amazing opportunity for someone interested in a youth work charity, volunteer management or HR Management and also offers great flexibility to fit around your personal/work life.

Duties Include:
1. Writing Role Descriptions for each volunteer role.
2. Creating and editing templates for volunteer adverts, including online and social media ads.
3. Posting and editing voluntary vacancies on free websites.
4. Sending out/Emailing application packs, offer letters and DBS Police Checks.
5. Monitor recruitment adverts on the Gumtree, Do-it website and any other free media.
6. Screening and meeting suitable candidates to support viability for roles on offer.
7. Interview applicants on the Telephone, Skype or face to face.
8. Assisting the Volunteering Programme in all HR related aspects, following good practice and standards. 
9. Sourcing free training and development opportunities for our volunteers.
10. Monitor recruitment and retention levels.
11. Look at ways to make volunteering more attractive, such as awards, team days etc.

Time Commitment & Work Location:
This role would ideally be approx. 4-6 hours per week commitment (during evening and weekends), managed flexibly and with some remote/home based working.
