Help us meet the highest possible standards by self auditing our own performance.

The difference you will make:

St Clare Hospice provide a wide variety of different services including physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual support to people with life limiting illnesses, and their families. In order to help these services run smoothly we also have a range of non-clinical departments such as HR, volunteering, fundraising, retail etc.

We strive to provide the best possible support across all our clinical and non-clinical services. One of the ways we can ensure we are meeting the highest possible standards is to self audit our own performance against a range of contractual and best practice guidelines.

With your help we can run our audit programme more efficiently and effectively, identify our weak spots, and ultimately make improvements to our patient care.

What you will be doing:

• Research / review relevant guidance online so that we are up-to-date on regulations we need to audit our services against.
• Create audit tool(s) to enable us to audit ourselves against the latest regulations and requirements.
• Share these audit tool(s) with relevant clinical and non-clinical teams
• Where required, guide teams through the self-audit process
• Analyse the data that comes back
• Write reports on this data using pre-existing templates
• Send reports to the relevant managers for review
• Monitor changes being made as a result of your reports by asking teams for updates on their action plans.

The skills / experience / personal qualities you will need:

• A methodical approach
• Computer literate – confident using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and particularly Excel to analyse data, and create charts and graphs.
• Able to interpret statistical data, analyse its meaning, and communicate your findings clearly and effectively.
• Good written and verbal communication skills – it is important to build rapport with the teams as well as analyse their performance
• Experience of writing reports would be beneficial
• A positive, can do attitude

The time you will be asked to commit:

A half day (c. 4 hours) every week would be ideal, but once a fortnight would be a possibility. This would enable you to complete one or two audits a month.

Your hours would need to be during the week (Monday – Friday 9am-5pm)

The support you will be given:

• Online clinical audit training is available to you.
• You will be supervised in your role by the Head of Quality and Audit.

The benefits you can expect:

• Become part of a passionate and supportive team.
• Help make a real difference to people living with a life-limiting illness
• Gain new experiences and develop skills and confidence.
• Meet new people.
• Spend your time doing something that is worthwhile and rewarding
