The Housing Options Service is responsible for discharging the Council's statutory duties towards customers in housing need. This is a busy, front-line environment, with a specialist team dedicated to finding the best housing solutions for those in housing need. The role involves working with vulnerable customers, preventing their homelessness and achieving sustainable long term outcomes.

You will be interviewing and assessing those in housing needs, so you will need to have knowledge of the relevant housing legislation including the1996 Housing Act, the Homelessness Act 2002 and recent changes to legislation in order to carry out your duties. With the Homelessness Reduction Act imminenet, this will be a challenging role, dealing with a high volume of applications, but you will always have the support of the team to assist you in your day to day duties.

In return, we can offer a competitive hourly rate - up to £23 per hour Umbrella, depending on experience, full time hours (37 per week) and the opportunity to expand on your current experience in a rural Local Authority with a busy Housing Options department.

This contract is initially for 6 months with potential for further extension after this period
