Village Green Restaurants is looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our management team at the Chequers on the Green, High Halden, Kent.

Country dining at its best, the Chequers on the Green is a large, traditional village pub & restaurant that has recently benefited from a complete refurbishment scheme and the introduction of a new and exciting food offer and menu.

Our restaurant is able to cater for approximately 80 covers and we have a large, well equipped trade kitchen, making it a great working environment for our five chefs and the kitchen team.

This role presents a great opportunity for a proven Head Chef to put their mark on the Chequers on the Green and further enhance our reputation and trade locally.


•Proven experience at a Head Chef level.
•The ability to lead and develop a kitchen team of 5 chefs.
•A good understanding of GP, menu costing and wage budgeting.
•Former stock purchasing, ordering and management experience.
•The ability to implement and monitor health & safety and food safety procedures.
•The desire to assist with menu development in the long term.
•Passion and enthusiasm in the kitchen.
•You must be flexible in terms of the working hours required of you.
