This is a part time position within Handcross Park and a very exciting time to be joining this busy, growing school. The role demands flexibility on working hours and attention to safety together with energy and enthusiasm and the willingness to go the extra mile. The Minibus driver role requires good communication and presentation skills and an excellent driver safety record.
Key responsibilities:
To report to and liaise with the Head of Estates regarding all matters that relate to the driving of minibuses for the School.
To perform daily walkaround safety checks on vehicles before use and ensure any deficiencies are recorded and promptly reported to maintenance.
To maintain and ensure compliance with all the appropriate DVLA and health and safety regulations.
To adhere to the School minibus driver policy at all times and to represent the School in a professional and courteous manner at all times
To drive carefully at all times, within speed limits and with due attention to other hazards that may arise
To work with other members of the staff team in a co-operative and helpful manner.
To deliver any reasonable driving request by the Headmaster or the Head of Estates.
Other requirements:
Full, clean driving licence – preferably with D1 entitlement
Excellent communication skills.
A warm and professional manner
Attention to detail and safety
Loyalty, tact, enthusiasm and flexibility
The ability to work independently, yet as part of the team
Hours of work:
This is a part-time position, during term time. The hours are to be agreed but may include a daily weekday pick up service between 7am and 8am. In addition there may be a requirement to work a small number of evening and weekend commitments dependant on demand for minibuses from the Boarding House or Sports Departments.
4 weeks per year plus public holidays pro rata, (holidays to be taken in conjunction with the maintenance team).
