Could you volunteer as part of our service and make a real difference in your local area?
***We are looking to recruit and train a volunteer in this locality as soon as possible. We have male young person who has been waiting quite some time for an Independent Visitor (IV)**

Training will be delivered locally.

Children and young people in care are considered to be some of the most vulnerable in our society, which is why the law says that a child or young person in care should have an ‘Independent Visitor’ (IV): a person there for them who can offer emotional support and friendship.

An IV is a volunteer befriender who takes a young person who is in care out on different activities like going to the cinema, bowling etc. once a month for a few hours. Hopefully by doing this they will establish a long term friendship where trust is built over time and the child/young person will have the opportunity to try new activities and have fun at the same time.

You do not need any qualifications we are looking for dedicated people who are comfortable befriending and being a good role model for a child or young person who may have experienced difficult times during their childhood.

This is a worthwhile opportunity and there are many benefits in becoming an Independent Visitor. You will make a positive impact and difference to the life of a vulnerable child or young person, become part of a leading national children's charity, gain valuable experience and present possible new career opportunities within social care including pre graduate students, meet new people and have fun!

Excellent training provided, and all expenses reimbursed.

Please either email, call or text us for more information.

Thanks for your time..
