FEMALE Personal Support Worker

To provide appropriate practical support to a disabled woman researcher and disability rights activist to live a full and active independent life. Job is based in Nottingham (Beeston)

Skills and essential requirements of candidate

• Female
• A confident DRIVER (able to drive my automatic car) with full clean driving license
• Reliable, flexible, willing to learn, take directions and use initiative
• Good level of written and spoken English
• No previous experience of support work is required as training will be provided.

Pay: £8.50-£ 9 per hour ;
Shifts: flexible and negotiable
• weekday shifts (7.30/8 to 4/5), evenings (5/6pm to 10pm) + weekends (e.g.9am-4pm)

Location: Close to University of Nottingham

Start date: Oct/Nov 2017 for minimum of 6 months (can be extended)

Job Description

Job involves a range of tasks including:

• Travelling/ driving – locally and around the country to meetings and conferences
• Admin – filing, taking notes, collecting books, photocopying
• Support with delivery of lectures and presentations (no knowledge of subject matter require)
• Domestic duties – cooking, washing clothes, shopping, cleaning
• Personal support – support with dressing, applying makeup/hair styling, other daily living tasks

This part-time job may suit postgraduate students to fit around their academic duties.
