We have opportunities for a Dispensing Assistant and other pharmacy support staff, who will support the dispensing of prescription drugs and assist with efficient stock management in our dispensary and be crucial to product running of the pharmacy
We are looking for an organised and diligent person who enjoys assisting customers and working within a team. You should display enthusiasm for self- improvement and show commitment and dedication to excellent service.
Completion of a Dispensing Assistant’s course and previous experience of working in a retail environment is preferable, although you will receive full training in line with our commitment to staff development

Your duties will include:
Ensuring the safe supply of medicines
Ordering medicines, labelling, dispensing, endorsing and collection of prescriptions.
Opportunities to engage to improve productivity.
Ensuring patients receive a friendly, attentive service
Ordering and checking of received goods
Communicating with patients regarding prescriptions and over the counter queries
Supporting the delivery of professional services in the pharmacy
Assisting in improving over the counter sales
Continuous improvement
To ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
To abide by the GPHC’s ‘Standards of Conduct, Ethics and Performance’, observing and applying all professional, ethical and legal obligations.
Efficient dispensing
To adopt the pharmacy’s systems and processes for processing prescriptions, prescription accounting and management.
To manage ethical stock (ordering; receiving; storage; disposal) to optimise efficiency, patient satisfaction and clinical governance.
To assist in the promotion and delivery of professional services offered by the pharmacy.
To work professionally and politely with external stakeholders (including GP surgery staff, care home staff, health and safety inspector, etc.).
To identify customers’ needs with sensitivity and professionalism.
To provide accurate, relevant and safe advice which is tailored to the patient’s individual needs.
Growing dispensing income
To improve dispensing income using enhanced dispensing services such as:
• Repeat Prescription Service
• Managed Repeat Prescription Service
• Prescription Delivery service
• Monitored Dosage Systems

What you’ll need.
Previous experience of working within a pharmacy with Medicines Counter Assistant Course qualification (preferred but not essential as training will be provided)
Ability to work as part of a healthcare team
Passionate and enthusiastic about providing patient care
Excellent communication skills and customer rap
Ability to follow instructions but also use their initiative
Organised and motivated
Compassionate and caring
Ideally you will need to have an NVQ Level 2 equivalent in Pharmacy Services and may currently be or have previous experience of working as a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join us.
To work in our dispensary you also need to have completed a Medicines Counter Assistant (NVQ2) qualification or equivalent. However, if you have not previously completed this, we’ll support y
