We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Operations team in our Bolton depot. This role is a permanent contract for a Night Shift Manager. Working alongside the depot team you will take responsibility for ensuring the depot processes mail within the given guidelines and the SLA's set. You will have an overall view and look after each process and will be on site where and whenever possible. As a shift manager, you will discuss the strategy, quality KPI's, processes, staffing, communication, Health and Safety, security and HR issues. You will need to have good managerial experience to manage supervisors and warehouse operatives and will have the ability to oversee multiple processes. You will demonstrate strong Excel and Outlook skills, manage labour and cost budgets and variances between forecasts, set measurable objectives for Supervisors and provide KPI data to the Depot Operations Manager.

The role involves delivering complex solutions to a wide range of challenges. You will need to liaise directly with other departments and individuals.

The shift manager is responsible for ensuring that the depot processes mail within these guidelines and the SLA's set. The manager has a number of supervisors and QMC coordinators/goods-in to manage and ensure that action is taken to process mail in time. Other duties will include:

* Goods inwards process and escalation
* Quality mail checks
* Delivering multiple product specifications to SLA
* Manage bag sortation, machine and hand sorting processing
* Returns processes
* Manage supervisors and warehouse operatives
* Manage costs in the depot
* Have customer focus
* Ensure Health and Safety regulations met
* Ensure all staff comply with the Mail Integrity requirements
* Management of consumables
* Liaise with the Transport team

Essential Requirements:

* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to motivate and direct a team of supervisors to help in achieving the shared goal
* Strong Excel and Outlook skills
* Manage labour and cost budgets
* Ability to provide KPI data
* Quality and qualitative experience in dealing with best practices within an operational environment
* Set measurable objectives for Supervisors

Desirable Requirements:

* 5 years' experience within a 3PL or FMCG environment of managing a medium sized team
* Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) Math and English 'C' grade or above
* FLT licence
* Risk assessment training
* Manual handling training
