We are very pleased to be working alongside a beautiful family run hotel on the outskirts of Skipton who are looking to recruit for an eager & passionate Commis Chef to join this award-winning hotel.

The establishment is a quality, fresh food hotel set within a beautiful countryside area utilizing local produce serving traditional dishes to a high standard.

A typical day would see the kitchen brigade catering a busy service which spans over breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, fine dining in the 110-cover restaurant, they also have a strong conference and banqueting element to this establishment.

There is a large brigade in the team with the plan to take on an additional two roles due to a surge in trade. The kitchen is well equipped with quality industrial equipment and plenty of space to conduct daily preparation and service. With a strong emphasis on locally produced ingredients, with the long-standing head chef producing seasonally inspired menus using traditional cooking techniques.

The average working week is around 40-48 hours paid at an hourly rate of £8PH, 5 days over 7 working straight shifts 2pm-10pm with the very occasionally split depending on business.

Candidate Role:

·Assist in daily prepping and running of the kitchen

·Work with the senior team to develop your skills and learn how the kitchen operates

·Maintain strict health, safety and hygiene protocols

·Ensure consistency in your work

·Participate in daily food prep and any other jobs required from the senior chefs

·To maintain all hygiene and safety standards with emphasis on health and hygiene.

·To produce and deliver high quality food to the customers, in accordance to the standards agreed.

·To assist the senior chefs by being hard working, flexible, proactive and eager to learn

Candidate Specification:

·Must have experience in fresh food background

·Great team player who is driven to perform and succeed

·Passionate, enthusiastic and eager to learn

·Have a keen eye for detail

·Excellent communication skills are essential

·Liaise with senior management on all matters regarding food service and maintaining standards

·Develop a strong work ethic

·Uphold all health and safety legislation in accordance with requirements

·Have excellent organisational skills
