Sedbergh School - Opportunities

Sedbergh School are currently seeking Deputy House Chefs & Trainee Chefs to work in the Boarding Houses in the School. You will work alongside the Senior House Chef as their deputy, overseeing the provision of varied and healthy meals for pupils and staff in the Boarding House with additional work at Sedbergh Summer School. The ideal candidates would have sufficient training and experience to have the confidence to cook breakfasts or prepare tea without direct supervision. The position will suit a chef who is looking to develop their career.
Suitable applicants will be given the opportunity to combine working at the School with a programme of formal catering training with Kendal College. We expect some candidates to have the ambition to become a House Chef once they have achieved the required experience and qualifications, with the benefits available.
You will be expected to work one of the two main shift patterns (06:30 AM to 2:30 PM) producing breakfast and delivering lunch with the Senior House Chef or working a later shift (11am to 7 PM) covering lunch and producing tea. Ideally you would work one day over a weekend but some individual needs can be met.
Sedbergh School offers:
