And, with approximately 1.9 million listings live on our website at any given time, we are continuing to live up to that mission going forward.
However, online fraud is increasing and scammers are exploiting any opportunity to take advantage of people. As such, there has never been a better time to reaffirm our commitment to building a safe and secure online environment and show our community the investments we have made to keep them safe whilst using our platform.
Three pillars of safety
There is nothing more important to us than the safety of our users. At the heart of our approach is our three pillars. The pillars commit us to:
- Deterring bad actors. Invest in industry leading tools, filters and systems to stop bad actors from being able to use our platform.
- Promoting positive user behaviour. Educate users with tips and advice on how to stay safe online and when meeting with someone they have connected with on our platform.
- Striving to be best in class. Working with external partners so that we can learn from their expertise and be leaders in this space.
Through these pillars we take a holistic and comprehensive approach to online safety. In addition, our dedicated safety team works alongside our technology systems to guarantee that we uphold them.
