Gumtree’s Services category helps communities across the UK find what the help they need locally. All Ads posted in this category must adhere to the services policies outlined below and our general posting policies.
Astrology & psychic services
- All Ads for astrology, psychic, spiritual healers, or other metaphysical services must be listed in the Entertainment category. Therefore, Ads for these services should be treated as entertainment rather than lifestyle help.
- Claims the service listed offers guaranteed results and/or can improve or provide solutions for personal, financial, legal, health, business, or other issues are not permitted.
Botox services
- Botox and other prescription medication are not allowed on Gumtree. As such, neither are services offering their administration.
Dissertation and essay writing services
- We do not permit Ads offering to complete homework for students.
- Editing, proofreading, or services offering guidance/tutoring are allowed.
Financial & car insurance services
- Insurance services are required to have both a professional email / account as well as a landline number. Offering these services without these two pieces of information is not allowed.
- If insurance is only offered in addition to an item being sold, the above qualifications are not required.
Loans
- Ads offering or requesting loans are not permitted
- Money collecting services are prohibited
Massage ads
Massage services are welcome on Gumtree as long as they are offered by trained professionals. When posting ads in this category, please include your qualifications within the ad, as well as following the policies below:
- No sexual massages. This includes Nuru, Tantric, Sensual, Undraped and Happy Ending.
- Ads must not reference gender, age or sexual orientation.
- No free or exchange massages.
- No ‘wanted’ ads for massages.
- Massage ads must not use photos of real people. Cartoons, mannequins, diagrams, etc, are allowed as long as they are not used in a sexual manner.
Where we believe ads are in breach of the above terms, such as being indicative of adult, sexual or escort services (for example by implying that the service will only be provided to those of a certain gender, orientations or other demographic or where the advert makes a point of highlighting the gender, orientation and/or physical attributes of the person performing the massage), we will remove the ad without hesitation, and we reserve the right to restrict access to Gumtree.
Sexual services
- Adult, erotic or sexual services of any kind are prohibited including but not limited to: bachelor parties, adult cleaning/ lawn care, webcamming, modelling, photography, escort and prostitution.
Surrogate, adoption and donor services
- While we realise that these are important services for many families, they are not appropriate for Gumtree. Please use official channels if you are looking for egg or sperm donors, surrogates, or adoptions.
Gumtree reserves the right to refuse or delete content that we believe breaches our Terms of Use and policies. We may also restrict a user’s usage of the site either temporarily or permanently, or to refuse a user’s registration at our discretion.
