About {{ makeName }}

An all-American automaker that now resides in the very European hands of Fiat, Chrysler, traditionally one of America's 'big three' car manufacturers along with Ford and GM, is at an interesting juncture in its history.

Currently Fiat seems to be mixing and matching Chrysler models with its Lancia brand, utilising the Italian marque to rebadge the flagship 300 luxury saloon in Europe where it is now known as the Lancia Thema (Chrysler branding remains in the UK however due to a perceived lack of faith in the Lancia brand) while Lancia models like the Ypsilon and Delta have been stamped with a Chrysler badge in the UK.

At the time of writing Chrysler's UK range consisted of the Ypsilon, Grand Voyager and 300C, a triumvirate of cars that blends Lancia-influenced Euro chic with the more typically American styling that characterises the Chrysler-derived models.

It will be interesting to see if the Chrysler brand, which now resides under umbrella of the newly established Fiat Chrysler Automobiles multinational (the seventh biggest automaker in the world), ends up following the European model that is seemingly embodied by the quirky Ypsilon hatchback or sticking with a more familiar American look.

Gumtree's Top Chrysler Models

CHRYSLER GRAND VOYAGER

Big people carriers is Chrysler's forte and they don't get much bigger than the Grand Voyager. For sheer practicality the Grand Voyager is hard to beat and will be the ideal fit for many large families. This hulking MPV is virtually the size and shape of a minibus and will have no problem housing seven people with plenty of room left over for luggage. Access is also excellent thanks to its electric sliding rear doors.

CHRYSLER YPSILON

A product of Fiat's ownership of Chrysler, the Ypsilon is actually a rebadged Lancia and will continue to wear the Italian marque's badge on the continent. A compact hatchback with distinctive styling, the Ypsilon wins points for novelty and might appeal to supermini buyers on the lookout for something a bit different but in truth it lags behind class leaders like the VW Polo and Fiat 500 in areas like cabin and ride quality.

CHRYSLER 300C

This big luxury saloon has been surprisingly successful in the UK and certainly stands out next to more familiar execs from BMW and Audi. The new 300C improves on its predecessor by sprucing up the interior and adding a few toys. It's still big, plush and pleasingly refined and undercuts most of its European class competitors on price.

CHRYSLER DELTA

Another rebadged Lancia, the Delta shares the Ypsilon's unusual styling and certainly stands out from the crowd. Underneath the distinctive bodywork the Delta is less unique, in fact it's closely based on the Fiat Bravo and shares many of that car's characteristics. The Delta gives you plenty of space in both the boot and cabin for its class and is pretty well equipped but the ride lack refinement.

CHRYSLER PT CRUISER

The PT Cruiser is that rare thing, a genuinely unique looking car. This mini MPV looks like something out of Roger Rabbit and seems likely to divide aesthetic opinion. Nonetheless there were plenty of takers when it was first released in 2000 so you shouldn't have trouble tracking this American curio down on the used market. Beyond the bold bodywork the PT Cruiser is still fairly practical but lags behind the current market-standard in all important areas like space and interior quality.
