Tips for finding a good home for your pet
When looking for a new home for your pet:
- Be honest about medical history and your pet’s behaviour
- Screen potential owners carefully, and check references. If necessary do a home visit
- Don’t be afraid to ask for a vet’s reference, or to take a photo of your pet with their new owner
- Please make yourself available to offer any advice or help while your pet settles into their new home
If you are unable to find a good home, locate a reputable shelter /rescue centre where you know the animal will be safe. For more information and tips see the RSPCA site
Tips for finding a Pet to adopt If you are looking to adopt a pet:
- Think carefully about what type of animal suits your lifestyle, and do any relevant research to ensure you make the right choice
- Be responsible: many animal charities and welfare organizations recommend that you spay or neuter your animals so they don't add to the escalating animal re-homing problem
- Collection of the pet should only be made face to face. We strongly advise against the shipping or transportation of animals for both their welfare and also because these transactions often involve scams where there is no animal, just a fraudster attempting to rip you off
