Are you an experienced youth worker who is ready to take your first step into a leadership position? Have been in youth work for a number of years? Or are you an enthusiastic and new to youth work and are keen to gain valuable and relevant experience, skills and knowledge?
A Place to Be youth group is an independent youth group that was established in 2005. It is based at the Wey Centre in Haslemere and urgently seeks a Youth Leader and Youth Worker term-time only from 7.00 - 9.30 pm on Friday evenings to run this successful drop-in centre. These are paid positions that are supported by two qualified on-site youth counsellors who will form part of the team, an experienced Management Committee and a team of young people who run the operations.
Our focus in on providing a safe environment for young people to meet their friends, get involved with various activities and build their self-esteem and interpersonal skills. We have 30-40 young people who drop in most Friday evenings. The successful candidates must be local, enthusiastic and committed to help grow this much needed facility.
