We are an established and well known local Japanese restaurant in Richmond specialising in sushi, sashimi and a combination of modern and classic Japanese dishes.
Our goal is to provide a truly unique and exceptional dining experience to all our customers both regular and new.
All positions are for immediate or early start.
For all positions you must be able to prove that you can work legally in the UK and be free from any immigration controls.
** Waiting hall staff/waiter/waitress **
Type:
- Full or Part time (based of shifts)
Duties:
- Serving customers with efficiency and excellence
- Taking orders for food and drinks
- Setting and preparing tables quickly
- Understanding of customer requirements and being attentive
- Clearing and cleaning the prep area at beginning, during and close of business
- Other limited ad hoc duties
Requirements:
- Excellent customer-focused service skills
- Ability to maintain excellent service during the most difficult situations
- Previous restaurant work experience preferred
- A keen interest in the hospitality and catering industry
- A keen interest in Japanese and Asian cuisines
- Basic understanding of restaurant custom and operations highly preferred
- Must be able to communicate with a good level of spoken English
- A good communicator with a can-do attitude
- A quick learner who adapts to new surroundings
- A clean and presentable image
- Determined mind to see satisfied customers
** Trainee hall manager/Head waiter **
Type:
- Full time
Duties:
- Serving customers with efficiency and excellence
- Must be able to fully fulfil the whole duties of a hall staff
- Organise hall staff duties and shifts
- Check stock levels
- Eventually be able to train new hall staff
- Liaise between hall staff, kitchen and customers
- Other limited ad hoc duties
Requirements:
- Excellent customer-focused service skills with a professional attitude
- Must have a keen interest in the restaurant and catering industry in particular Japanese and other Asian cuisines
- A good understanding knowledge of a working restaurant, its customs and operations
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Must be able to think and act quickly even under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must have an advanced level of spoken and written English in particular understanding of restaurant-calibre English
- Honesty and trustworthy
- A good telephone manner
- Basic IT and MS Excel skills
** Commis Chef/Trainee Cook **
Type: Full time
Duties:
- Assisting in preparation of key ingredients and sauces
- Assist in the preparation of ordered dishes
- Assist the sushi chef in busy periods
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a busy kitchen as an assistant is highly preferred
- Previous experience of preparing sushi/sashimi highly regarded
- Must be a quick learner and willing to take on new tasks
- Must have a grounding of common kitchen sense hygienic, cleanliness, etc
- A creative mind
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and at short notice
** Kitchen Porter/Assistant **
Type:
- Full time
Duties:
- To provide all required assistance to kitchen staff
- Washing and cleaning plates, all tableware and kitchenware
- Swiftly clearing worktop areas making ready for new orders
- Taking instructions from chefs in providing full assistance
Requirements:
- Previous kitchen experience preferred but not necessary
- Must place cleanliness and hygiene as a priority
- Able to assist the chef and cook in
- A quick learner and thinker with common sense
- Other ad hoc duties
