We are looking for a full time and/or part time vegetarian cook and kitchen manager to manage our kitchen at our Tibetan Buddhist Centre in Bermondsey, South London.
The role of the kitchen manager would be to cook for up to 15 people or more on a daily basis 5 days a week as well as to prepare cakes and soup for our Tibetan Tea Room on weekends. We would also need the kitchen manager to organise and clean the kitchen on a daily basis as well as to be in charge of ordering food and equipment for the kitchen.
The position is unpaid however we do provide board and lodging as well as food if you are willing to work full time. You would be living in our Buddhist Centre which is home to a 20+ community of Buddhist practitioners and people who are interested in Buddhism. This position is ideally suited for someone who is interested in Buddhism/Meditation however this is not a must and we would welcome anyone.

Kagyu Samye Dzong London Tibetan Buddhist Centre opened in April 1998 and provides peace and tranquillity for all at its two centres in central London. We run a programme of courses and workshops focusing on meditation, Buddhism, and holistic therapies. We also provide venues for community activities and alternative practitioners.
Kagyu Samye Dzong London is a branch of Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland and Rokpa Trust, which has branches worldwide under the direct guidance of Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche and Venerable Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche. Lama Zangmo is the resident lama and teacher of the London branch.
Kagyu Samye Dzong London offers a constant programme of meditation retreats, meditation classes and courses in Buddhism, along with courses in Tibetan language, artclasses and Tai Chi. We have a small shop offering a variety of related items, such as a selection of Buddhist books, incense, meditation cushions, statues and malas, and a comfortable reading library with a wide selection of Buddhist books from all traditions. A qualified Tibetan doctor holds regular clinics where patients can receive treatment with traditional Tibetan medicine.
