Dear Ms or Mr,

Currently doing a cultural internship in Bolivia, I have passed the first semester of the third year of my degree in Languages and business in Oxford Brookes University as an undergraduate French associate exchange student. I am now looking for an internship within a cultural environment from April 2012 to September 2012. I have planned to live in London for the placement, travel and accommodation would not be a problem for me.

Through my degree course, I have been able to develop my interest in English and Spanish languages, whilst improving my translation skills along with my understanding of Hispanic and English-speaking civilisation. I have gained some knowledge in economy, law, and communication and have good computing skills, having used different software such as PowerPoint and Microsoft Office. On the top of Spanish and English languages, I am also able to handle a conversation and write properly in Italian and I undertook to learn Russian by self-education for 2 years so I now master the basis of this language. The master of these languages allowed me to widen my open-mindedness as well as the understanding of cross-cultural realities and which might prove to be useful to become closer the clientele.

While at University, I have also been working since I am 15 and have been able to utilise my skills and acquire some responsibilities in working in the catering field for two years as a part-time head waitress. This job within a famous French Brasserie was valuable in teaching me the importance of ascertaining customersÂ’ needs and the sense of work as well as the precision and mental strength and open-mindedness required in this field. Moreover, I have experienced the work under pressure and long hours and this high standard institution showed me the importance of external impression.

I will be available from July to September. Please fcontact me if you need further information.

Yours sincerely,

Laura LEGEAY
