SUMMARY:
Interior Designer Performs is responsible for planning, designing, and drafting detailed specifications for creating a pleasing and functional interior environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan, design and supervise major renovations, remodelling and additions.
2. Prepare construction documents, write specifications, review bid documents.
3. Working to a brief, which details what the space will be used for.
4. Inspecting and surveying buildings.
5. Negotiating fees and setting schedules for the project.
6. Researching and drawing up rough plans, developing detailed designs and choosing materials.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assisting and completing any other tasks required by the CEO and other Managers.
2. Any other adhoc duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Educated to a degree level or the equivalent.
2. Considerable knowledge of the practices and principals of interior design, considerable knowledge of the preparation of proposals and specifications for interior design work.
3. Relativity and imagination; the ability to make a attractive environment whilst being professional.
4. An eye for design, including color, and good 3D awareness , the ability to visualise concepts and explain them to others .
5. Good drawing and IT skills and knowledge of CAD programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work from home. Attend occasional meeting.
The successful candidate must be available to volunteer for at least a minimum of 3 days
Please also note that this is an unpaid position and travel expenses could not be reimbursed. However excellent references and a certificate of achievement will be given after successful completion of the project work.
