Senior Network Engineer - Birmingham
Great opportunity for a talented Network Engineer in an exciting and fast growing group of businesses. The successful candidate will carry out a varied role which will require a mix of skills, experience and customer facing charm. Working with a great team of people in the renowned Custard Factory in Digbeth, Central Birmingham, this will be a fantastic job for the right person.

What Does a Network Engineer Do?
You will have excellent knowledge of IT networking products and services and be experienced in a number of the following; Fortinet, Cisco PIX, Cisco CSA, RSA, Surfcontrol, Nokia, Alcatel, and Asterix phone systems. Cisco/HP/Netgear routing & switching
You will ideally have experience in complex networks with exposure to VOIP and VLANs.
-Excellent knowledge of networking products and services, with experience in:
Cisco routing & switching
HP switching
Netgear Switching
Fortinet routing & switching
Cat5e cabling
-Experience & Knowledge in managing complex networks with exposure to:
VLANs
STP/PVST/RSTP
QoS
VOIP
-Experience & knowledge in telephony:
Alcatel OmniVista Phone system
Asterisk configuration and management
Digital/Analogue phone adapters (Linksys & Grandstream)
You will also have excellent communication and problem solving skills, be confident in liaising with clients, staff & management with regular client visits
Responsible for maintaining up to date documentation (including physical verification of the data and communications infrastructure) of the estate.
Maintenance and improvement projects to ease support requirement and complexity of the network (including standardization of cabling and clean and clear access to equipment on site).
Managed Service of our Firewalls through an established change control process, including and not limited to low level configuration changes, monthly reporting and license renewals.
Responsible for proposing future network and security solutions as well as full project costings, planning and implementation. Ensure the network/s are up to date, fit for purpose and providing both value for the clients and profit for the business.
Occasional ad hoc desktop and server support for tenants and/or central office.
You will have the minimum of 2 years experience in support environment
You will ideally be CCNA OR CCNP certified
