We require a reliable, dedicated, knowledgeable and outgoing person to contribute to the operational, governance and strategic management of Urban Youth and to assist in leading and steering the organisation in accordance with the vision, values, and strategic objectives.

Urban Youth is a new London based not for profit youth organisation aiming to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people through a new type of youth work approaches.

We are currently recruiting for an individual with the expertise, time and enthusiasm to become the Urban Youth Operations Manager, providing sound operational and strategic leadership to Urban Youth, to help drive this new not for profit youth organisation forward.

Skills and expertise needed for this opportunity include;
• Desirable (but not essential) a UK, Youth Work, Social Work or Teaching Qualification;
• Knowledge of youth work approaches and legislation, including safeguarding;
• Knowledge of project and performance management;
• Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team, preferably (but not essential) in a youth work or charity sector setting;
• Experience of funding bid writing and/or fundraising;
• Experience of working with young people.

As the Operations Manager you will need to be able to deputise in the CEO’s absence and ensure the smooth running and management of all Urban Youth programmes.

Key Duties:
• To act as the line manger to the frontline team;
• To provide supervision and support to this team;
• To act as a practitioner within the organisation when appropriate, including providing cover;
• To regularly monitor progress of projects and performance against targets and objectives and to ensure that the information required for reports to funders is provided to the CEO in a timely manner;
• To lead on the development of quality assurance of all projects provided by the organisation;
• In consultation with the CEO and volunteer staff team support the growth and development of projects and Urban Youth;
• To lead on the writing of funding applications and securing resources necessary to run an effective service.

Plus any additional duties as requested by the CEO or Board of Trustees.
