Operations Manager required for Events Catering Company

We are an up-market event catering company looking for a well presented, enthusiastic and hard working Operations Manager with a positive, friendly attitude.

Essential assets:
Relevant management experience of operations within the catering industry in up-market establishments
A career path which shows how the candidate has progressed through the positions and worked his or her way up, e.g. from waiter to FoH Manager and so on.
A good manager of people – staff and clients
A very responsible individual with good morals

The job will include:
Being part of the senior Management Team within the company
To take charge of organising the Front of House and all events within the company premises as well as external events at other venues
Responsible for quality control of events
Organisation of events including staff, crockery, table linen, uniform, menus.
A hands-on role – the candidate will be required to be the manager as well as work as part of the team at events
Long shifts and unsociable hours
Managing the day-to-day operations of the company
Adhere to monthly targets
Managing staff accordingly with workload, morale and achieving necessary tasks
Responsible for performance monitoring, annual appraisals, staff holidays, casual staff hours for payroll
Maintenance and up-keep of premises
Meetings with department managers
Meetings with clients inc site visits
Management of health & safety at work
Responsible for taking decisions in the company’s best interests at all times
To be proactive and flexible in meeting the needs of the clients/guests.
Office duties as necessary – liaising with staff/suppliers/clients via email, filing, answering phone queries and working in an organised fashion at all times.
