JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse
RESPONSIBLE TO: Care Minders Limited
AIMS OF POSITION:
To actively participate in meeting the personal needs of the persons in your care.
To actively participate in meeting the social needs of the person in your care.
To be responsible for management of the care provided.
oTo supervise junior staff in the delivery of care, ensuring that the individual’s plan of care is observed.
oTo assist the individual with their personal care needs and to help provide Health supervision and attention through direct nursing care when needed.
oTo undertake nursing duties in a safe competent manner with due reference to principles of good practice.
oTo control the issue of drugs as per guidelines for the administration of Medication (NMC 2002) monitor for adverse effects and maintain necessary records.
oTo involve and educate patients/service users, relatives and friends in the safe performance of physical care when such involvement is desired.
oTo work within the Code of Professional Conduct (NMC 2002).
oTo act in a supportive role to all care staff you are responsible for.
oTo work within the clinical governance policy acting as quality assurance activities that guarantee the pre-determined clinical standards are maintained and are evident within the health care setting you are responsible for.
oTo ensure that the Clinical Management Plan (CMP) whether written or electronic relating to each named individual is managed appropriately.
oTo ensure that medicines administration record (MAR Charts) you are responsible for are accurate at all times.
oTo ensure that no act or omission on your part has a detrimental effect to the person(s) in your care.
oTo ensure that in your care setting medicines are acceptably safe to use and medical devices work well as required by Medicines Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
oTo ensure that by undertaking roles such as Specialist Community Public Health Nurse emphasise on partnerships that work and cut across disciplinary, professional and organisational boundaries and impact on organised social and political policy to influence the determinants of health and promote the health of whole populations by reducing health inequalities, by working with individuals, families and communities, promoting health, preventing ill health and protection of health.
oTo carry out phlebotomy activities as required.
oTo participate in staff meetings, handovers, client reviews etc.
oTo work under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), the fire regulations and within COSHH and RIDDOR guidelines.
oTo accurately document all the care given as per Guidelines for records and record-keeping.
oTo attend mandatory training courses relevant to the position as directed by Care Minders and any other courses where possible to update practice.
oTo undertake other duties as may be determined from time to time.
