Male dancer-contortionist-physical theatre actor for short film
Edinburgh

Sorry, this ad is no longer available.

Wee Willy Winkie is a short film (6-7 minutes) to be shot in Biggar, South Lanarkshire in late September – early October.

For the lead role, we are looking for a male dancer/contorsionist/physical theatre performer. It is a non-speaking part and it will require a high level of physical agility. As we are a small independent production company, we are not able to pay, but we can provide travel expenses, catering and accomodation as well as a great experience that will be useful to promote yourself as a performer.

Please apply with profile picture and a video sample of your work if possible. We look forward to hearing from you!

Producer

Synopsis:
From a dark cabin on a mysterious mountain a strange, stopped figure emerges into the moonlight and in the blink of an eye has reached the toun far below where he creeps menacingly through the shadows, peering into the windows of the houses, looking forchildren. What does he want? Why does he appear so obsessed by young children? Why can the adults not see him? And what compels him to this behaviour every night when the clock passes ten?

Scotland's best-loved children's poem Wee Willy Winkie is here reimagined as a dark tale as if scripted by Tim Burton and filmed by David Lynch.
