Dear Sir / Madam,
My name is Jordan Dunbar, I am from Sunderland but now I live in London. I completed a level 3 national diploma in design and digital media at Gateshead College. I am interested in furthering my skills as a designer and expanding my career in the industry I love.
I first became interested in design and media during secondary school where I started exploring the internet and created a number of forum signatures for myself and some friends using Photoshop. I discovered that it was something I had a natural talent for but more than that, I realised that it was something that I absolutely loved doing. It wasn’t until I was at college that I realised how much I truly enjoyed being creative when I got involved with flash game coding and 3D modelling. I have strong experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and have used other programs in the Adobe suit such as Flash, Aftereffects and Dreamweaver.
While at college I had a weekend job at Home Bargains where I have three years retail experience working on tills, stocking shelves and customer service. During this time I was awarded with Employee of the Quarter for going above and beyond the expected working hours to assist with restocking the store after some much needed refurbishment works. While this position does not relate to my interests in design it did teach me valuable lessons in life that have helped keep me grounded such as the ability to listen and to appreciate the importance of hard work. I am well mannered, polite and pride myself on my punctuality.
I currently work at ODAK Printing and Computing in Streatham hill, I am employed as a Junior Graphic Designer. My Job Duties include the design and print of business cards, flyers, books, prepping artwork for vinyl cutting, Making T-shirts out of vinyl, working with clients to tailor designs to their specifications, designing logos and booking in repair jobs for pc’s and macs. I have the ability to (handle/deal with) several clients at the same time and can prioritise the associated tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
I have a passion for designing print and logo's, you can see examples of my work in my e-portfolio (Link at the bottom of the ad). I love to work closely with clients to help bring their ideas to life, from concept to reality. One of my current works is on display at gospel station for the coffee shop stationed there.
I am contactable throughout the day via email and contactable in the evening via phone. I would be most grateful if you could consider me for any suitable positions or apprenticeships you may have available. Please follow the link to my Portfolio from there you will be able to download my CV, do not hesitate to contact me should you have any further queries.
Yours faithfully
Jordan Dunbar
