Hello
My name is Helen and I have worked in childcare since the age of 18. I am 31 now.
I live in Blewbury, Oxfordshire, with my partner and an angel of a son who is 7. I also have 4 cats, 1 rabbit and 2 fish. I have always loved both animals and children, even though the saying says not to mix the two !
I am originally from Goring and also lived in Reading for a few years so I am familiar with all surrounding areas.
I am a loving, friendly person who is always keen to give things a go and I like to be kept busy.
I am artistic and creative and love to draw or make up stories. Singing and dancing are also a love of mine.
I currently work at a local very well respected nursery as bank staff during school hours ( I would work more hours if I could but due to school commitments its not possible). I have worked here for almost 3 years. I also worked here many years ago when I first left Henley College. I have many strong bonds with staff, children and parents there however I am looking for something a bit more permanent with more hours and a chance for me to thrive at what I do best. I have been thinking of going solo as a nanny for a while now and so would love to find the perfect family to work with/for, and who would be happy for their child/children to spend some time with my son also.
I worked at Mongewell Park, Child and Co Nursery for 2 years from ages 18 - 20. I left here to move to Reading and worked at Kennet Day Nursery for 2 years. I then decided on a break from childcare and worked at reading Borough Council for a few years only to return to childcare 3 years ago.
Where I work now is Mongewell Park, which is now owned by Bright Horizons, a well known American company. The nursery was recently awarded an Outstanding by OFSTED.
I am based within one room mainly, the pre school room with 3/4 year olds, which I love. I have many close bonds with the children and I also have my own key children. I have worked in all of the rooms over the years from 6 months old upwards.
Having my own son has given me a lot of experience and I also have a young niece who I have regulary. My partner has his 3 children from ages 2 - 11 every other weekend so Im always around children.
I have a BTEC National Diploma in Childcare which I achieved from Henley College.
I also have 5 GCSE's from school.
Diploma in English Literature (to finish Sept)
As I only work as Bank staff I could start within a couple of weeks.
My only need for hours is being able to get my son to and from school. I would obviously be happy to take children in my charge with me. The rest of the time I would be free to do all normal Nanny duties.
I am available from around 8 - 6 although this would be negotiable. Full time mon to fri or part time as I could still work at the nursery on the other days.
I would consider any hours.
