WORK EXPERIENCE
SEPTEMBER 2011- Counter balance forklift training RTITB course at Hargreaves in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
I passed the theory first time with a score of 100% and I also passed the practical first time.
MAY 2011- END OF JUNE 2011: Anglesey Abby , Lode , Cambridgeshire.
Catering Assistant. My job role here varied day to day, from wiping tables to pot washing to preparing food and presenting food. Also front of house work which included the use of tills and speaking with members of the public and discussing the food available. Anglesey Abbey resteraunte has 125 seats and is very busy during peak season. I enjoyed my time here even if it was short due to lack of trade at this point in the year. I was hired as a Seasonal Catering assistant for a short period and still have a temporary contract with them should hours be there and should I not be currently in full time work. I got on well with everyone there and have acquired 3 references. Anglesey Abby served only British seasonal produce some of which is made on site.
Reason for leaving: Temporary (seasonal)
In between working for Yo sushi and at Anglesey Abby I worked for a few different agencies one being Bamford Contract Services as a laborer in Cambridge.
August 2010- December 2010- YO SUSHI CAMBRIDGE

Catering business
My main role as team member on the “hotfood” section using the fryers and hobs was Wok chef cooking fresh Japanese food from scratch and preparing a variety of oriental sauces to compliment the dish. The main hot food dishes being rice or noodle based such as Yakisoba and firecracker rice with both vegetarian and meaty options available. Also cooked various
Soup and broth dishes which included the popular spicy seafood udon and duck udon down to the simplest of Japanese fast food such as gyoza, which is served with a sauce based on soy and vinegar.
Also prepared prawns and other seafood for cooking either deep-fried in a tempura batter or cooked for a few seconds in boiling water before being added to the soups. Also I cooked a range of chicken dishes such as chicken Teriyaki which is breaded chicken served on a bed of white cabbage with a thick and sweet soy based sauce served on the top of it.
Other duties include, all vegetable preparation, ensuring the correct storage of all food and other stock. Daily inputs into the DPSC to record holding temperatures and to ensure all food is cooked thoroughly and inputted correctly, as well as recording and maintaining the correct fridge and freezer temperatures. Also have received full COSHH training and food hygiene training to a high standard as we were working with high risk food groups.
Reason for leaving: Temporary role
In between working at the Rutland Arms hotel in Newmarket and working for Yo Sushi in Cambridge I again done various contracts with agencies mainly as a labourer in the construction industry and a warehouse operative for Blue Arrow Recruitment based in Cambridge.
25/11/2009- March 2010 RUTLAND ARMS HOTEL Kitchen Porter
My main role was to ensure that the kitchen is kept tidy including all washing up, sweeping, moping the floor and changing the bins
• I also did all breakfast preparation, preparing vegetables , fish and some sauces
• Seeing that all stock is in date and delivers are put away correctly
• Regular deep cleaning , use and storage of chemicals
• I also prepare some dishes
