Crib Caretakers Job Description

A student property management company is looking for a local caretaker who can work flexible hours which will vary week on week and lives in any of the following towns:

York (ideally in or near postcode YO31 or YO10)
Manchester (ideally in or near postcode M14)
Leeds (ideally in or near postcode LS6 or LS3)
Nottingham (ideally in or near postcode NG7)
Loughborough (ideally in or near postcode LE11)
Cirencester (ideally in or near postcode GL7)
Bristol (ideally in or near postcode BS8 or BS6)
Exeter (ideally in or near postcode EX4)


Representing the company (head office is in London)
Communicating with tenants, workmen and reporting back to head office
Inspecting and securing the properties
Booking in and overseeing cleaning and gardening work
‘On call’ 24/7 for emergencies
Accepting deliveries
Carrying out viewings with potential tenants
Managing changeover of tenancies (need to be available for the 30th June and 1st July every year)

As our head office is in London and we have student properties in towns all over the UK we are looking for a responsible adult, with great people skills, who is practical and organised and will be able to represent the company and adhere to our brand’s standards in managing the houses on a local basis. This person will need to provide their own transport and we expect them to dress and act at all times in a professional manner. Our tenants are important to us and we pride ourselves on offering them a very personal and efficient service and providing well managed houses. In student accommodation there are annual cycles; letting the properties, managing the moving in and managing the moving out with general pro-active and re-active maintenance throughout the year. We are looking for someone who can assist in all these areas of management and be as house proud of our properties as we are!

Paid as follows:

Changeovers (30th June and 1st July): £30 per property
Viewing with potential tenants: £15 per viewing (Bonus of £50 when let)
Call out charge (Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 6:30pm): £20 (including 1st hour)
Emergency or out of hours call out charge: £35
Ad hoc work charged on per hour basis: £15
