Hogans, the longest established estate and lettings agency in Harehills LS9, is expanding. We are now looking to take on an Assistant who will work closely with the Lettings Manager in managing our portfolio of over 150 rented properties, and also deal with customers who are buying and selling properties, both face-to-face and on the telephone. The position will suit an enthusiastic individual, who can demonstrate excellent customer service and IT skills and is good with figures and financial data. They are likely to be looking for a career in the property sector, and keen to learn the ropes by starting in a busy Estate Agency that aims to become the market leader in the area.

What is the Vacancy?
The vacancy is for a Lettings Assistant/Administrator, who will be responsible directly to the Lettings Manager, also carrying out, as required, tasks for the Branch Manager and Directors including some sales administration and general office support. The job is predominantly office-based but may occasionally include accompanying viewings.
Working under the direction of the Lettings Manager to undertake the following duties:
Recording rental payments from tenants
Entering data into the Company computer system/Lettings databases
Making payments to landlord/contractors and providing statements
Obtaining quotes for works required
Chasing outstanding rents by text message, letter, telephone
Dealing with landlord & tenant queries
Booking viewings and valuations
Responding to complaints/general enquires
Answering the telephone and dealing with customers in the office
Obtaining updates on tenants housing benefits claims from LCC
Preparing tenancy agreements and inventories
Ensuring gas certificates are up to date
Ensuring tenants have completed application forms correctly/obtaining landlord references
Updating the paying in record of money taken to the bank daily
Producing property brochures (for both sales and lettings)
Producing notification of sale documents
Also carrying other duties as required for the Lettings Manager, Branch Manager and Directors.
Good customer service skills
IT skills important and proficiency in MS Office desirable
Ability with figures and managing financial data and payments
Good organisational and administrative skills
Must have an interest in developing a lettings-based career
Good time keeping
Hours and Holidays
Monday to Friday 8.30 to 5.00 with 30 minutes for lunch
One in four Saturdays from 9.00 till 12.00
20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
