Seeking an experienced legal secretary to work for 2-3 days in the residential / commercial property department of a busy north london law firm. With a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role and knowledge of the residential conveyancing process, the candidate will have experience of secretarial and administrative practices, including case management systems, outstanding accurate typing, word-processing and audio-typing skills and experience of MS word and all property forms. The candidate will also have demonstrable client care skills and will be used to a very fast paced environment. The candidate will also have the ability to use their own initiative, work effectively under pressure and understand the need to produce excellent work to strict deadlines.
Main Responsibilities will include:
-Supporting the fee earner by ensuring all routine typing/administrative processes are undertaken along with co-ordinating diary commitments.
-Preparing correspondence through audio typing and word processing.
-Dealing with routine post, drafting straightforward replies as appropriate.
-Administer filing relating to conveyancing matters including daily filing, opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the procedures contained within the office manual
-Ensuring protocols are in place to protect the confidentiality of both the firms and clients documentation and information.
-Co-ordinating diaries, take minutes of meetings and circulate as appropriate.
-Attending to clients in person or on the telephone, providing support in a professional and friendly way and ensuring the firms standards for client care are maintained.
-Dealing with clients queries whenever possible and referring matters to the fee earner as and when necessary.
