IT Support
Job Summary
To provide in house technical support at the head office as well as two local satellite offices
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To manage IT services for Nine to Five Recruitment Agency this will involve day-to-day front line user support in the main office in Bexhill as well as supporting two smaller satellite offices in Eastbourne and Uckfield
Duties will involve the support of workstations running Windows XP and Windows 7, software support (Office 2003, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Sage), server backups, database administration, server administration and assisting with IT development projects
The IT Support person will be required to undertake other duties outside the IT sphere required by the agency
The agency does realise that there may be occasions when problems cannot be resolved in house. On these occasions a specialist support company is contacted
Person Specification
(1) Skills and aptitudes
Essential
Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner via telephone, email and in person, to users at different managerial levels, and to non-technical users
Self-motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to work under own initiative and manage own workload
Ability to approach technical problems logically and resolve using the resources available
(2) Knowledge / Experience
Essential
Experience of current Microsoft Windows workstation and server operating systems (Win XP / Win 7 / Windows Server 2003 / Small Business Server 2008)
Experience of current Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook & Publisher 2003)
Experience of building and configuring PCs
General troubleshooting and resolution of hardware issues with PCs, printers and various other items of IT Hardware
Knowledge of server/networking basics, such as IP Addresses, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory
Experience of Microsoft Exchange 2007
Experience of Routers / Firewalls
Desirable
Knowledge of Anti-Virus Administration e.g. ESET NOD32 and Automatic Deployment Tools such as WSUS
Experience of Hyper-V / VMware Server 2.0
Knowledge of MSDE / SQL Server 2005 Express
(3) Personal Attributes
The IT Support person will be the sole person providing support within the company and will need good communication skills as well as be willing to get involved in supporting the recruitment activities of the agency
Salary £20,000 per annum (DOE)
