Industry Job Function Summary:
IT Development Generalist/Multidiscipline Designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements short- and long-term solutions to information technology (IT) needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure. Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs and implements software solutions. Responsibilities are within the IT Development Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines.
Key Job Characteristics:
The Site Services Engineer provides site IT Engineering services to users within assigned region, including design, analysis, evaluation and implementation of applications programs in support of cross functional areas. Also, analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies and supports operating systems, database or utilities software. Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems. Works in partnership across EIT as an extended member of the site services and support team.
Uses expertise in customer service and technical knowledge gained from prior experience to resolve issues surrounding installation, usage and training of customers on software and/or hardware products.
Diagnoses and resolves difficult problems in the areas of hardware, applications, and operating systems.
Works independently with supervision only for critical needs. In addition, has a strong team approach to resolving issues when necessary.
Supports engagement model to ensure voices/needs are being represented and resolved.
Elevates issues where appropriate to senior level engineers.
Builds relationships across the Enterprise IT organization to ensure that IT-delivered services and end-user productivity goals are understood and met or exceeded.
Provides guidance to more junior members of the department.
Provides "how to" assistance on all internally supported devices, applications and systems.
Advocates for the end user to ensure high-quality and timely service and support from the entire IT organization.
Leverages internal and external resources (knowledge bases, manuals, support sites, vendors) to answer questions and resolve issues.
Contributes to the creation, facilitation and maintenance of FAQ documents, knowledge articles and user guides.
Adheres to and follows Company policies and procedures and applies function related ISO and SOX requirements.
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the above mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors Degree and 5 plus years working with computer hardware/software.
Computer software and hardware troubleshooting knowledge and experience.
Software and hardware certifications a plus.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to learn new technologies and applications.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and technical teams.
Mature and self-motivated professional able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
