This position is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and diligent individual to build on their existing skills in the fields of Operational and Security IT management. Joining a team responsible for the infrastructures of Dataline and its customers, you will take pains to ensure that IT systems are running smoothly and that information assets are not under threat. You will anticipate problems and react decisively to remedy them. A consummate problem solver, and 'hacker' in the original sense of the term, you will have a desire to understand technology at the nuts-and-bolts level. The phrase "I don't know how it works, it just does" is not in your vocabulary.
We are focussed on employing an individual who can demonstrate an enthusiasm for understanding and a dedication to duty. To succeed in this role, you will have solid commercial experience in at least one of the domains below and a strong desire to learn about the others:
■ Network infrastructure support: Cisco-focussed support of core networking technologies including IPv4, IPv6, OSPF, BGP, ARP, STP, 802.1Q, 802.1X, 802.11.
■ Windows 2003/2008 Server systems support including: AD, Exchange 2010, WSUS, IIS, SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, SMTP, POP3, DPM2010, Hyper-V, Backup Exec.
■ Network services support: Protocols including DNS, DHCP, SNMP, RADIUS.
■ Security: IPSec VPNs and DMVPNs, PIX and IOS firewalls, network IPS/IDS, content filtering, anti-virus, traffic capture and analysis aHR0cDovL2JpdC5seS9MMm1jVTM=
■ Forensic Analysis: Network- and Host-based analysis of security events.
■ VoIP: Lync, Asterisk.
The successful candidate must have been resident in the UK for at least five years.
