HarpsCool is an independent music service teaching HARMONICA to Primary School groups across Sussex. Perhaps you already play the harmonica, or teach another musical instrument. Either way, HarpsCool could interest you.

Work is available for free-lance peripatetic music tutors, who are experienced, reliable, organised, professional, enthusiastic and, above all, fun. Lessons take place on school premises, daytime and after school, lasting 30 minutes per session. Many schools have two or more weekly sessions. Daytime groups are 6-8 children; after school and lunchtime clubs up to 12. Children also perform in school assemblies and at local festivals under your direction.

The post is permanent part-time, initially 2 to 6 hours a week; increasing over time, according to your availability and business input. We do not teach during school holidays. Payment (pro rata) is £16.00 per hour in the first month, £18.00 per hour in the second month and £20.00 per hour thereafter.

You must have your own transport, enhanced disclosure CRB for the LEA’s in which you wish to work (including authorisation to work with children), two professional references and publc liability insurance (this can be obtained by joining the Musicians Union). We regret work cannot be offered unless/until you have these documents. Training in our teaching methods is provided. Further information about HarpsCool is available on line at our website.
