Working hours 8 hours per day, one hour lunch Monday to Friday. 2 hours on alternate Saturday mornings, 0800 - 1000

This Estate is one of the oldest and most well known Horse Racing yards in Epsom. With a history steeped in the Racing industry the owners have brought it back into racing hands. There are currently over 20 horses on the property. This position is perfect, whilst not essential, for somebody who has an interest in racing.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of all aspects of the Private Garden consisting of:
• Rose Garden
• Lawns
• Vegetable Garden
• Perennial Borders
• Fruit trees

• Maintenance of Paddocks and Gallop consisting of:
• Cutting, Treating and Fertilising
• Repairing/Construction of Post and Rail fencing
• Maintaining water system
• Cutting and care of hedgerows
• Care of all-weather gallop and ménage

• General:
• Servicing and maintenance of all machinery
• Use of the Massey Tractor
• Care for exterior wood furniture
• Organising tradesman and taking deliveries as is necessary
• Ensuring wood stocks are satisfactory for the open fires in the Main House
• Occasional masonry repairs
• Use of pesticides

Skills:
• Enthusiasm, self motivator and hard worker is essential
• Ability to work on ones own
• Preference for the ability to handle horses
• Knowledge of grass and paddock care
• Willingness to turn hand to anything

Further information
• The candidate will be expected to check the horses at 1930 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, flexible by prior arrangement. This takes no more that 10-15 minutes
• The lodgings are provided rent free however bills are covered by the tenant
• Parking available
• The estate is a total of 35 acres, there are 32 stables both wooden and masonry, the private garden comprises of 5-8 acres and the paddocks and gallops cover the remainder.
• Care for the Estate when family are abroad/attending engagements.
