Hours: 25 per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £10,049 per annum (after pro rata calculation)

Colchester YMCA is a registered charity incorporating a housing project providing 44 young people aged 16-25 with accommodation and youth work programmes. These groups are made up of very vulnerable and often disadvantaged young people with a multitude of needs and issues. The housing programme aims to help young adults to make the transition to social and economic independence by offering a personal programme linked to housing.

The purpose of the role is to provide general maintenance to the YMCA's premises and to provide basic building and ground maintenance support.

The role involves general maintenance/repair work, basic plumbing, some painting and decorating, some grounds maintenance work, assisting with cleaning, and liaising with outside contractors. Some basic IT skills would also be desirable for this role.

Experience should include either residential or non-residential cleaning and general light maintenance. Applicants will be able to work with minimum supervision and work as part of a team.
