WHAT THE SECURITY OPERATIVE JOB INVOLVES

The Security Operative role with UNITE is a varied and challenging one where no one day is the same. The main focus of this role is to provide great customer service whilst ensuring the safety and welfare of our customers by maintaining a secure environment outside of office opening hours.

Covering multiple sites you will build up relationships with your customers and colleagues from day one. This busy role will see you working in a number of areas, for example providing general reception and security services outside of normal daytime opening hours (supporting daytime hours when required); regularly patrolling the sites to identify and resolve safety hazards; welcoming visitors to the properties, ensuring relevant security and identity checks are carried out and responding to our customers calls and queries professionally, courteously and with urgency.

You won`t be on your own - as well as the rest of the security team, you will work closely with colleagues in customer services, the emergency control centre, facilities, housekeeping and other internal departments to make sure that our customers` safety, welfare and satisfaction are at the centre of everything we do.

So, if you`re looking for a career where you can be customer focused, results driven, work on your initiative and have fun doing it, you`ve come to the right place.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

A genuine passion for customer service is the most important quality we look for. Although you may not have worked in the property sector before, you will have had experience in a customer facing job possibly in retail, accommodation or hospitality. It`s also essential in this role that you`re able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and days (as required). It would be ideal if you held a Security Industry Authority (SIA) certificate, and if not that you`re willing to undertake the certification.

It`s really important to us that you thrive on understanding, empathising and delivering against customer needs and are able to communicate effectively with people, remaining professional, courteous, friendly and calm in all situations.

With so many customers and such a variety of work the environment is fast paced and exciting, so we will need to know that you are able to work at pace, whilst still maintaining a high level of accuracy in everything you do. It`s also crucial that you are a first class team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and working together to achieve goals.

A full and clean driving licence is required in this role as you`ll be covering multiple sites.

Our administrative processes are really important too and although we will provide you with support and training on our systems and processes, you will need to be a comfortable user of IT such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.

UNITE Group PLC is an equal opportunities employer and we welcome people of all ages, ethnicities, religions or sexual orientations. We`re only interested in your talent, your potential and your personality and in offering you an environment where all three can develop and grow - regardless of your background.

If this opportunity sounds of interest to you, please apply below. Your application will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.
