We are a very busy student café located in an English Language School, located in Russell Square, serving delicious breakfasts and lunches, homemade cakes and salads.
We are open 7 days a week. We are looking for a full time experienced chef.
You will be required to work 35 hours a week, with weekends off.
The hours of work are 08:00-15:00 Monday to Friday and the rate of pay is £9.50 per hour.
Duties include, but not exclusive to:
Prepare and cook 3 dishes for the Lunch service for students, which are served in a bain-marie, buffet style.
Prepare and cook any other requests by students or staff, such as omelettes throughout the day
On a weekly basis prepare the ordering list for the following week, ensuring that we have sufficient stock via e-mail
Be responsible for leaving sufficient food for the weekend shifts, which are carried out by another member of staff
Make suggestions to any changes to the menu
Maintaining a clean and healthy environment
Daily cleaning of kitchen area and equipment
Any ad-hoc duties required by the Manager
Cover any other shifts, should the necessity arrive
Excellent customer service and hygiene is essential
You must be completely fluent in English and consider the distance from your home to us before applying. Please attach an up to date CV including 2 references and a short covering letter about yourself in relation to our offered position.
You will preferably have a valid Food and Hygiene certificate. You will be required to undergo a CRB check as we do deal with under 18s.
